dria wasn't particularly keen on being in Mistral, but then again, she had something to find here. She'd left Shiraz alone for a little while, telling him she was going to go look on her own. She'd told him to check around Kuchinashi, and she'd meet back up with him in the city if she found anything. And, so, she found herself out by Windpath, specifically a village near the outskirts of the city, which she knew was a sketchy place to begin with. She might've liked his company, sure, but he was also a little... Overbearing, of sorts. Nevertheless, it was looking more and more like he was going to convince her to come to Shade to teach, and she'd be under the obligation to give it a try.
Well, on the bright side, at least she'd run into Yoru. Maybe he'd deign to stay in Vacuo for a little while so she could get settled. It was all dependant on that new girlfriend of his... The girlfriend she'd yet to meet, and that she was more than excited to meet, too. To think a girl had actually captured her friend's heart was an interesting prospect, to say the least. But for now... Adria was just going to enjoy herself. She'd found an inn for the night, and she was sitting comfortably with a glass of wine, waiting for her food.
That was, of course, until she could hear commotion outside. Just what in the hell could that be? Standing up, she abandoned her glass of wine, throwing a look to the innkeeper; she'd flashed her huntress credentials earlier, so if there was a commotion outside, she was definitely going to help out with it. He had her name, after all; he could just haggle her in the morning when she came to do her check-out.
The edge of the village was where the commotion was coming from, and Adria groaned, rolling her eyes. Great. She knew what that meant, because the way it sounded, it definitely wasn't a Grimm. The soft chinking of metal could be heard as she moved, coming from the sound of her greaves on the cobblestone path while she moved. It seemed she wasn't the only one moving around; a few guards were about, and she saw another Huntress with bright pink hair nearby.
"Hey, you," she called gruffly, approaching the other, pink-haired girl. "Got a damn clue what all the fuss is about? Doesn't sound great if you ask me."

Someone came screaming into Windpath. Bandits, the shouts warned. A horde, to the east. The man's screams and pleas were drowned out by the sound of town militia and boots against cobblestone. A dreadful sound for those who knew that it meant. The militia wasn't trained and that fact was probably echoing through their thoughts. They were young men who hadn't been in such a situation before.
So when Carn saw them scrambling about, she pulled them aside and told them who she was -- A Huntress -- and to leave the fighting to her. Some laughed. Others trusted her. They went to their families or stayed around to be some sort of help. Flanks were checked, the parameter scoured for weaknesses, those weaknesses patched up.
The result was a commotion, which probably brought about more worry and panic because of how seriously they were preparing.
Carn stood amidst it all. Arms crossed as she stared at the front of the small town. She wished she could be home now, with Ari. It was what she wanted the most. But she couldn't abandon anyone. This was her job after all.
"Oh-- Hm?" Carn said as a sudden voice shook her out of her deep thoughts. The metal greaves caught her attention. Another huntress? "Eheh.. Hello, miss. Bandits, it looks like. I've only ever dealt with the hordes down near Vacuo, but I figured I could lend a hand. They're scared. Most of them don't know how to use a sword properly. This might be a different part of the world, but bandits thrive off of fear all the same."
The sound of war cries and the collective sound of thundering footsteps interrupted them. The sounds bled together, into what was like a war drum.
"Well.. They're a lot more energetic than the sandy ones," she said, bringing her hand to Sakura Hurricane's hilt. "Wouldn't you agree?"
Happiness is like
the old man told me. Look for it, but you'll never find it all. Let it go, live your life and leave it. Then one day, wake up and she'll be home.
dria wondered who this girl was. She didn't recognize her, but then again, in the world of Remnant, you didn't know every single huntsman or huntress. But she was quick to give Adria the run-down of the situation. Bandits, of course. She knew some of the tribes were around here, and they were bad news if you weren't careful. The people were scared, but there was certainly something they could do. Bandits were known to be decent fighters, and some of them were even trained in the academies. That made them even more difficult to deal with.
They could hear war cries and thundering footsteps approaching. It sounded like the cries of war, and Adria knew she was ready for it. "Dunno. Never dealt with the Vacuo ones, but the ones out here can be a nasty bunch. Name's Adria. Whoever looks like the biggest and baddest, leave it to me. My Semblance will let me take care of those." She grinned wickedly, watching as they came forward... And she moved first.
"Left flank!" she called out to the girl, directing her as quickly as she could. She shot right into their ranks, twisting as she flicked her blades out, decimating the weaker ones left right and center. A few quick strikes, and their Aura was down, and she'd kicked them off their horses, sending the creatures scurrying away. Thankfully, they weren't war-horses, which made it easier to deal with, and only the front ranks had them. This way and that way Adria twisted, kicking some in the face, slicing their Auras to ribbons, and even killing a few with her blade. It was kill or be killed when it came to bandits... And Adria was more preferential to killing them over letting the townspeople be killed.
