Welcome to World of Remnant. We are an AU, no-wordcount RWBY roleplay beginning at the conclusion of Volume 3. The Fall Maiden is dead, her powers in the hands of the enemy. Beacon Academy has fallen, and Vale is soon to fall itself. The Vytal Festival is a disaster; thousands dead, many more injured. Grimm populations are at an ever-present surplus. What dire circumstances has Remnant fallen prey to?

4.10.17 Whoo, looks like it's been a while since we've updated this, hasn't it?! Well, here's some quick news for everyone -- we've altered the application time limit again, allowing members to post apps a little more frequently than before! Members with 3 or more characters now only have to wait 1 day between applications, and members with 5 or more now only have to wait 3 days!

23.12.16 Happy Holidays from all of the staff here at World of Remnant! We'd like to thank everyone here for supporting us. We're nearly 30 members strong and nearly a year old, and the best RWBY roleplay site out there! As 2016 nears an end and Vol 4 reaches its halfway point hopefully we can keep this momentum going forward! Stay tuned as the staff will have some stocking stuffers for everyone in the near future.

13.12.16 Salutations! As many of you are well aware a BIG update launched Sunday. A major event, a mini event, a new continent is opening up to be explored, and a lot of lore has been expanded upon. You can read all about it in the 6th edition of our Newsletter. For those of you who have read it already, I've added a couple of things today so give it a second look.

Dusty Bears I

Mathan's bears, as an extension of himself in a sense, have the ability to activate dust in a unique sense, absorbing either crystals or powder into their bodies for a special effect. If they interact with dust in its crystallized form the effect lasts for 3 posts, if they interact with handful of powdered dust the effect lasts for 2 posts. During this transformation they cannot interact with dust to extend the effect or change types. When the effect wears off they can absorb the same dust again, or another type of dust. The bears can of course be destroyed during the transformation, yet different weakness and resistances apply.

At the moment they only respond to the four basic types of dust; Fire, Ice, Lightening and Wind.

Fire Dust:

The bears turn a bright red and are engulfed in a (relatively speaking) mild fire, yet they do not feel the flames themselves. The flames are about as hot as a burning cigarette, meaning that they can ignite foliage and hurt on contact if not protected, yet they do not ignite everything burnable they come in contact with easily. Things that will normally put out small fires suppress the flames on the bear's body, yet not the internal temperature of the bear (meaning that the flames can ignite on the body again), unless they are completely submerged in extreme cold or when fire cannot burn by lack of oxygen. Then they just wither up into a pile of ashes. The bears are resistant to heat and fire from other sources.

Ice Dust:

The bears turn light blue and freeze to a a temperature of about -30 degrees Celsius/-22 degrees Fahrenheit and their skin turns icy and slippy, allowing them to glide on smooth surfaces and slopes. Direct contact with them will have the same result as touching anything of such a cold temperature, meaning that exposed skin will feel the cold yet thick clothing offers some protection. Ice Bears are able to maintain their temperature, meaning that they can endure hot temperatures to some degree, yet enough exposure to something like intense fire is able to melt them completely. The bears are resistant to cold and contact with ice, yet attacks like an icicle being hurled at them at great speed will do damage thanks to the impact.

Lightening Dust:

The bears turn yellow and jolts of electricity sparkles from them, hitting things at random that are at a short enough distance. The jolts are not strong enough to completely immobilize something yet they are painful and repeated shocks can do some damage, most certainly to electronics. Materials that insulate against electricity like rubber are mostly protected from the jolts, while materials that do conduct electricity like copper are more substitutable to it. The bears in this form are immune to lightning effects of other sources.

Wind dust:

The bears turn green and gain the ability to 'swim in the air', floating like they are balloons filled with helium. The Wind bear becomes incredibly light of weight and is able to float at will, even being able of ascending and descending at will. They can make swimming motions to move through the air to gain momentum, yet they can also gain this by other means like being thrown. The bears are too light to do much damage with any of their attacks, and any attacks made against them would most likely send them away flying as they are unable to stop the momentum quick enough. They cannot also take too heavy a weight with them, meaning that one would not be able to carry a person yet a light object is no problem. Bears in this form do not gain any form of resistance to something like wind. In fact, a strong wind will blow them away more than anything.
