Hello there, members of World of Remnant new and old! This time around, our newsletter is a little more special, given today, February 14, is our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! That's right -- as of today, World of Remnant has officially been open to the public for a whole year. And it's been a good one at that!
Rule Updates & Changes
Nothing of note here! However, we did want to address one small thing with all members. As a large site with fairly lenient restrictions on things such as character genders, ships, and the like, we'd like to put two very important messages out to our community.
The first is respect.
When it comes to sensitive topics, such as religion, or politics, and the like, we have and will continue to ask all members to be cordial. If it starts turning into an argument, it doesn't look good for the site, and it doesn't reflect well on you as a member, either. We're happy to say we've had very little incidents with this, as most people have been respectful, but we always like to remind our members. Respect goes a long way when it comes to a large community, and while we don't expect everyone to mesh perfectly together, we do expect everyone here to have a cordial sense of respect for one another.
The second is bringing up issues to the staff.
We've noticed that at times things can get a little heated in the cbox, and that's not something we'd like to make a habit of. Nevertheless, we'd like to remind all members that as staff, our inboxes -- or Skype, or Discord, or however you choose to contact us -- are always open. If you have a problem with another member -- even something so simple as they're making you uncomfortable, or said something that makes you uncomfortable -- there is absolutely nothing wrong with bringing it to the staff team. Even if there's nothing we can do at that particular moment, telling us about it -- heck, even including screenshots -- gives us a record that we can reference if these issues become a regular thing.
Staff Team Changes
Over the past year, we've had a lot of staff come and go, and a lot of people, so let's give a quick shout-out to all of those!
First off, we have Neme
, one of World of Remnant's original administrators. Neme was integral in helping to set up the site, including development of lore, playing some very key characters, and ultimately keeping people engaged by flying through our advertisement contests with absurd numbers. Unfortunately, a number of personal issues took over, and Neme sadly had to leave us in order to handle things IRL.
Our second staff member was Tress
, our first Winter Schnee and Neopolitan player. Unfortunately, Tress was not around long enough to have much of an impact, as she went radio silent just a few weeks after joining our staff team. However, she did bring a few interesting ideas to the table as World of Remnant was just getting its feet wet, and we can't forget her contributions there!
Thirdly, we have Roo
. Roo was our list master -- she was painstakingly diligent when it came to keeping our lists and team listing up to date, and jumping on apps like they were the hottest new fad out there. Sadly, like with many others, real life took over, and Roo took her leave of absence from the site. She does, however, pop in from time to time to say hi, so make sure you give her a pat on the back and a warm welcome if you see her!
And lastly, we have Schism
. Having been around as our first Blake Belladonna player, Schism became integral when it came to developing a number of plots and ideas revolving around their characters. Schism was always around in the cbox -- sometimes when sleep should have been more prominent -- and always brought a sense of cheer (and sometimes absurdity) to the cbox. However, with finding a new job and becoming boggled down by work projects, Schism had to take a leave of absence, and may yet return!
Lore Updates: Upcoming
As many of you know, lore is an integral part of World of Remnant's success over the past year. We've taken what little we've been given and fleshed it out; in other words, we do a lot with a little, and it's proven more than successful. While we don't have any solid updates, we do have a small note revolving around what we're working on, and what we'll be incorporating from Volume 4.
The first is canon characters.
For the time being, we're opening up Ilia Amitola
and Oscar Pine
as playable canons, along with the famous
shitty Neptune Henry Marigold
as an Atlas citizen. We will also be removing Professor Ozpin
as a canon, due to his integration with Oscar, and lastly, we will be congratulating Glynda Goodwitch
on her position as Beacon Headmistress in Ozpin's absence.
Secondly, we will be further developing the Silver Valkyries
in the next little while, as well as some further development revolving around Salem
, Cinder Fall
, and the Four Maidens
. This will come in-line with the Wizard
and the Four Relics
, as well as the Story of the Two Brothers
and the creation of Remnant. Be prepared for more plot-related developments and story additions, including some homages to Volume 4's events -- some of which have even already appeared!

We've got a very special event coming up for everyone to attend. On February 18, 2017
, the staff will be hosting a LIVE PODCAST! This has been mentioned a few times by members, and we've been sitting on the idea for quite a while -- but now, it's becoming a reality! We will have the podcast streamed live on Twitch, and most if not all of the staff team will be there! We'll talk about the year as a whole, things like commentary on volume 4, perhaps a few games, and we'll even have a Q&A session!
In order to make this segment go a little bit smoother, if members have questions they would like to ask -- no matter how obscure -- we ask that you send them to the Narrator
account via PM. These can be questions about lore, about canons, about upcoming plots (though we may stay tight-lipped on those!) or questions to specific staff members in general. They can also be questions on certain mechanics or why we chose certain mechanics for certain things (such as Dust, Aura, etc), or even our inspiration for such mechanics!
