The month was February, two months after having stayed in Vale since the invasion. General Ironwood had yet to dole Winter out any ops to take up, causing her to become ancy. Winter had been a creature of habit, throw work upon work upon work and she'd have less time to remember what it was that haunted her. Without any work, Winter had to figure out how to keep herself busy. She needed a release.

Without so much as a word to anyone but Weiss, Winter disappeared off the radar and headed for the mountains with a pack on her back for essential survival supplies. If she got snowed in, it'd be like being in Atlas again. Out here, she could be the lone wolf she craved to be, slaughtering Grimm that didn't judge her for how she did so.

Winter had only been in the abandoned city for a few minutes before the fighting had begun. Wasting no time, Winter had kicked over a barrel and beat relentlessly on it with Requiem's hilt until the first Grimm appeared. Winter's eyes narrowed, a Propulsion Glyph firing up in front of her, spinning about quickly until Winter slashed at it with Requiem. Seconds later, the Beowolf fell into two halves of it's former self, tumbling past Winter as a building took the rest of the blow.

Then she heard the howls, the roars of the Grimm who had located her. The hairs on the back of her neck rose straight up as a grin spread itself across her features, her irises thinning. All the built up tension, stress, the haunting of her past and the need to take it out on something shot adrenaline through Winter like a river that had broken free of it's dam.

Hours past, daylight giving way to nightfall as Winter continued her rampage. She had lost track of how many before her lay dead, how many hours had passed, how fatigued she may or may not be. She didn't feel it if she was fatigued as she sky rocketed across several propulsion Glyphs, finally plunging Requiem through an Ursa's mouth, wrenching her arm forward through the Ursa at the high speeds. Requiem appeared out of the tale of the Ursa's backside, Winter spinning to the right as she leaves the corpse behind her.

Immediately she plants her foot on a building and starts running up a fallen and desolate building. Above her a Nevermore from above in the sky charged down at her. As she runs up the wall, a Propulsion glyph forms above her, spinning it's dials rapidly. Just as she jumps through the glyph, her back sprouts open glowing, icy human sized Griffon wings, flapping them hard and tearing up into the sky.

Just barely Winter flies under it's shoulder, her wings wrapping around her as she spirals around to face it's belly. Nevermore were intimidating, huge, and seemed like fearsome opponents. They were easy to bode, easy to lure into a trap that anyone normal person would be able to figure out. Planting Requiem into it's gut, her feet press down onto the feathery soft belly and begin to run, slowly cutting the Nevermore apart. Just as she reaches the Nevermore's full length, she leaps off of it, twisting about in the air until her feet plant firmly against a large Propulsion glyph above her.

The passing moments felt tantalizing, the urge to fire off growing ever more fierce within her. With a throb of adrenaline hitting her, she fires off the platform, Absorption glyphs forming on her knees and feet as she dives head first straight for the ground where smaller Grimm had gathered around. The air screamed in her ears, her wings pinned to her sides as she soared past the falling Nevermore.

A larger glyph had formed on the ground, merely sitting there. Finally, Winter flipped and landed directly on the ground. Immediately the ground cave way, forming a small crater. About her along the edges, the glyph seemed to rise quickly before stopping it's spinning and slamming back down into the ground, exploding. About her, a shockwave shot outward as the ground about Winter shot up in a small radius, knocking the smaller Grimm aside and causing a building to her side to fall over.

Silence. The silence had immediately hit her ears. There wasn't a sound of movement about her, just the utter silence that came after a fight. Winter's wings opened up and relaxed as suddenly Winter felt the heavens open up into a light shower. Winter slowly opened her eyes, relaxing her body and looked up above her, letting the rain land and soak her. It felt nice. Her body with it's dying adrenaline felt exhausted. She hadn't even realized how much time had passed. Just that her body had felt as if it had spent a load of energy and wanted to take a small timeout.

The frustration, the tension, the images in her head, they were still there. But they were much more subdued now, much quieter, less impulsive. Her fingers didn't twitch to grab Requiem. Her legs didn't ache to run away. Her hair had become a mess, having been let down. Now it laid soaked upon her face, plastered to it, hiding the right half of her face from the world as she stayed in a knee on the ground.

February, a couple months had passed since he had met his old partner Winter again and the two went their separate ways. He still had flashes from that short time together, her scolding and the way he liked to tweak at her nerves. For all of their differences, there was no one he could trust as much as her, except for maybe Hazel. She was a great mechanic and he had grown up with her, the only girl who had ever really seen him without a shirt on, let alone how bad his arm was ripped off.

Now a lot of people would probably have asked, why did he travel to the old city with a pack on his back and a smile on his face. Well that would be because his old partner thought she was going out on her own to that place but he managed to pick up her trail before she headed out and had been tailing her a good ways back for some time now. He knew he was going to get a show, he just didn't know exactly when.

When Winter headed down to her set spot, Ulrich had made his way carefully inside one of the buildings and sat himself up so that he had a clear line of sight on the woman as the rampage began. He watched her move and sighed softly as a frown fell over his face as he watched her move and slaughter the on coming Grimm. It was rather tough for him to watch her act the way she was acting, every minute reminded him of that day in the tournament.

He knew he shouldn't really care, but as the hours passed and Grimm continued to fall, he wondered how much she held her feelings back inside of her. Not her cold, icy persona everyone else knew but the one he saw before him which to him was full of Anger, passion, and lust, well blood lust but blood lust all the same. If it had been against people, he probably would of stopped her a while ago but something told him, she needed this vent and who was he to stop her now.

He had to admit though, she had improved quite a bit in their years apart from one another, she was indeed worthy of the Specialist title. To say he had been extremely entertained was an understatement, but he wondered how long she could keep it up. Anyone after a performance like that would be exhausted and would need time to rest up and recover. She can try the tough girl act all she wanted to but the human body was still only human, she would need to rest and recover.

The quiet area around him echoed for a few moments as he clapped aloud while nodding down towards her and then he hopped out the side of the building, landing if a soft crouch before stepping towards her with a smile on his face. He knew she wasn't going to be happy he followed her here but it was too late for that now as he spoke. "Gotta say...leader never disappoints. You've improved yourself quite a bit I must say. Still...", he said as the sentence drifted off a bit as he moved close to her, and offered her his hand to help her up to her feet. "...that felt like you were holding that all in and that's no good. We had this talk before Winter, for all that scolding you did to me you can't keep your feelings bottled up like that. You explode and this...happens."

Pitter patter, pitter patter, the sound of the rain pelting the road around her felt relaxing. Much more so than the silence that comes after a battle. That always brought an unnerving relief. Yes, you lived, but around you were the images of those who weren't as lucky or as skilled. Maybe both, Winter didn't like to admit it, but there was always some portion of luck that came to every fight.

Winter slowly brought her head down, her wings slowly beginning to wrap her up as she leans her head into them. Was she exhausted? No, not completely and most certainly not physically. She could admittedly fight for a few more hours before absolutely needing a break. Yet mentally, she was utterly exhausted and her wings had wrapped around, proving to be a comforting blanket and pillow in one. Not to mention to someone who was looking at her she'd appear to have an icy aura about her, her wings giving off a bright glow.

Winter had been wrenched from her comfort against her will, drawing Requiem and her dagger as her wings flared opened. It'd been hard to see, but soon enough once the threat of danger had left and the figure stumbled into the glow of her wings' light, she lowered it all. Ulrich Reinheart, of course he was here. How the hell did he find me?

Of course, the light that struggled so much to stay lit made her feel bad for thinking like such. How many times had he saved her from going too far or managed to coax her even if just a little? Still, the sting of being abandoned at the diner two months ago had felt very fresh, so any willingness to speak to him about what she kept bottled up had since vanished.

"They're Grimm, Ulrich. At the end of the day, no one cares how you kill a Grimm or why, just so long as it dies and they don't kill you or others... Why are you here?"

He knew she'd be pissed that he showed up but then again, she should of known that sooner or later he'd reappear again. He didn't do it though because he wanted to annoy her, he honestly cared about her and followed to make sure she didn't do anything too crazy. Still that didn't change the fact that she was going to try to chew his head off with her icy words of hurting feelings, she did have a gift that that.

Still he had to admire the way she looked right now. He couldn't remember her ever having the ability of conjuring wings but right now she looked very impressive with the ones she had conjured upon her back. 'Still...those have got to be exhausting her a bit more than she's used too. Still...she does have the intimidation on her side should she have to deal something like that out to any other kind of opponent., he thought to himself and he moved closer to her with each one of his steps.

He took a few more steps towards her before stopping a few feet away, hands inside of the pockets of his red over coat as he stared at her through the yellow lenses of his sunglasses. "I saw you in town...judging from the bag on your back you were going to find yourself some trouble, or vermin, so I decided to tag along. I know you would of told me to leave you be if I caught up with you so I kept my distance.", he said as he reached up and grabbed his sunglasses from his face and took them off, placing them inside of his jacket in the depths of one of the inner pockets as he smiled at her with his emerald green eyes.

"Besides, you're my partner, I'm supposed to keep and eye out for you so long as I'm around. To be honest I've been checking on you for the past two months here and there, ever since our little diner incident I've kept my distance to give you space or if you've gone to see your sister I just completely walked away. I know you cherish your time with her, and I'm sure she does the same., he said with a rather matter-of-fact tone in his voice before he started to pace around.

"Now...straight to the point. You've been fighting like that...", he said as he motioned towards her current form. "...for some time now. I suggest you get some rest sometime soon or at least stop with the wing show, that's a bit flashy for you isn't it?", he said with a rather cheeky tone.

"And you just didn't assume perhaps I was going camping?" She asked, though she knew Ulrich would see past that side of her. In truth, the idea of camping like she used to back in Atlas had always made her dream of doing it again. Winter had almost forgotten she had brought a bag with her to do exactly that. Now the prospect of camping here began to dim.

"You've... been keeping tags on me? I'm not gonna lie, despite how sweet of you it is, that's a little weird. Stalkerish maybe." Winter waited to see if she got a reaction out of Ulrich. If she did, she'd chuckle and wave him off with a hand to show she was merely jesting, otherwise, he'd already know she had been jesting. Winter however didn't like the idea of someone following her around. She prided herself on her ability to blend in or even disappear when she wanted to.

Winter stood up and began walking up to Ulrich. As she passes by him, her left wing snaps out suddenly and smacks Ulrich across the cheek, never missing her stride as she heads for a broken down building. Having the nerve to call her wings flashy when clearly they were more for a sense of comfort to Winter and a source of intimidation to the enemy and after he had abandoned her at the diner, he deserved to get hit harder in her mind. Perhaps she'll hit him again soon.

Winter walked inside of the broken building, immediately reaching up and grabbing a bit of the floor on the second floor that had broken. Pulling herself up, she looked around to see what looked to be a parking garage at one point. She finds a seat in a corner of the lot and begins to set up camp, going as far as to pitch a tent and start a very small campfire, her wings wrapping themselves around her comfortingly as she takes a seat in front of it quietly.

Camping? Winter going camping would of been amusing and something different, if in fact she still did go camping that was. She was...well a very driven woman and he had only seen her camp maybe on or two times back in Atlas, he doubt she had ever been out there again. Still it was a nice thought, perhaps he should do that at some point since it had been some time since he last went as well, heck even going fishing would of been a nice relief.

"Camping...right, cause the whole Grimm genocide is apart of camping like roasting marshmallows or roasting Hot dogs. Nice try Winter....A for effort.", he said with a smirk as he looked around the destroyed town. He read about the disaster that happened out here back then, it was truly a tragedy in Vale's history and the place served as a reminder of it. God how many Grimm live in or just around the area was probably a number he couldn't Phathom, but one thing he could phathom were the words that Winter spoke.

"St-stalkerish?! Hey I am not a stalker, I was keeping an eye out for a dear friend while keeping my distance to give you some space. It was incredibly sweet of me...", he said as he watched her chuckle and wave it off, causing his face around his cheeks to redden a bit due to the embarassment he felt. That feeling however soon left when the woman started walking towards him, and upon passing her wing reached up and gave him a good slap across the cheek. Reaching up and rubbing at it as she walked by, he huffed and grumbled to himself as he followed behind her. "Missed you too....sheesh."

As the woman showed off her impressive skills with her wings by easily hopping up into the building of her choosing, Ulrich took the long way around. He wanted to look around on the floor beneath them and plus well, he couldn't fly. When he emerged upon the same floor as Winter, he moved over towards and open space that over looked the streets below, pretty much volunteering to be lookout while she sat in front of the campfire she had produced. He kept himself quiet, eyes constantly scanning outside as the sun dimmed slowly in the late sky making shadows extend and stretch across the ruins.

In Winter's defense, this site at the moment had acted as a camping ground so technically, she wasn't wrong in using camping as her defense. Whether or not she would get any sleep tonight had been a different story, but at least for the time being she could relax and just let the world pass her by.

"I didn't hear anyone complain about the Grimm suffering a genocide. Consider it a camping excursion. It comes free with the experience." If Winter picked up anything from her time with Qrow, it'd been a fraction of his humor. Granted, a fraction. Winter hadn't the slightest ability to be humorous in a capacity that could make someone burst out into laughter. She knew humor wasn't her thing, so she stayed from it, faaaar from it.

"Though don't go and kid yourself. Sweet? You would have shown up and said something, maybe even brought me flowers... no... I'd have to kill you for that. Maybe a croissant filled with honey but not too much... flaky edges..." The thought of the croissant she shared with Weiss that had literally brought her to brief tears. Something so small, so simple, so delicate had caused a ground breaking earthquake within her that caused deep cracks in the ice within her.

"I still haven't forgiven you..." Winter states quietly as she stays seated, looking into the fire. Being abandoned at the diner had stung Winter hard. Should she forgive him? Probably, but like all wounds to someone who couldn't quit receiving them, you're likely to become a person who held onto grudges. At this point though, it'd been more of a reason to focus on disliking someone rather than remembering.

Plus, making people squirm, especially boys gave Winter some sense of enjoyment.

"I am NOT complaining about slaughtering Grimm...I think I have as much hate for them as anyone else does.", he said as he brought his artificial arm up a bit to look at his covered limb before setting it back down by his side. It wasn't all bad to have the fake arm and all but still, he won't lie and say he doesn't have nightmares to this day about that Grimm attack and the Ursa who ripped his arm off. For a long time he couldn't fight Ursa he had been so terrified.

"Still though...if I'm going camping, i'd rather Grimm weren't a part of the experience. I'd much rather it have food, friends, and heck maybe a drink or two.", he said with a chuckle while his eyes continued to scan the road down below. He had been told by quite a few of those in the military as well as civilians that he acted like some of those robots that walked around when on guard duty. Never moving, not even shifting on his feet, just cold stares out into the world beyond after all he wanted to make sure they were safe.

As she began talking again, she reminded him how much she didn't like flowers, chuckling when remembering the time some guy brought her some. When she mentioned the croissant and the details that entailed though, he made sure to put that away for later, a way to smooth things over with her. Then she said she didn't forgive him, which meant she was still upset about the Diner two months ago.

"I know...but honestly I don't care if you forgive me or not. I give you space when I think you need it...and come back whether you want me to or not. I'm annoying after all...", he said with a soft smile as he remembered when they were going through Atlas together, he was always on her heels in a sense as the two of them went on missions. "Winter...I am sorry for walking out on you in that Diner, you just seemed like you weren't in the mood for my prying more than usual when you nearly froze my throat upon asking to catch up. I just thought th-", he never finished the sentence when a soft growl echoes from his stomach, causing his cheeks to flush red as he reached up and touched his stomach. "Never mind...just...just get some sleep or something.", he said as he mumbled to himself, knowing full well he should of eaten before following her.

"Then I suppose we have different tastes in camping excursions." Winter dryly joked. "Besides, you didn't have to come camping with me. Though to your pleasure I'm sure, the numbers of Grimm at the moment seem to be minimal at best. I'm sure they'll be back soon enough."

Winter looked up as she heard a growl before blinking. Immediately she looks back to Ulrich. "... You're joking, right?" She quietly sighs, reaching into her pack. Moments later she comes across a pack of peanuts and a bottle of water. "Here." She underhands it over to him. Why am I not surprised you're still as forgetful as before?

Winter wanted to chuckle at the irony that just took place. Ulrich just stated he'd rather have food, friends and maybe a drink or two for his camping experiences. Granted, it wasn't the drink he was expecting, but he got his preference. "For awhile I thought a Grimm had howled in the distance. Eat before you alert them please?"

"Ulrich I'm going to make something clear. I'm not interested in telling anyone about my past. My sister will learn first and depending how that goes, it'll depend on if anyone else will learn. I won't tell you, I won't tell our teammates of old, or anyone else but her. I didn't mind having your company but you abandoning me is a wound that's still fresh right now." Did she deserve being abandoned? In Winter's mind, yes. To anyone else, it was up in the air as far as the decision went. Was Winter angry? Well... yes, but at what exactly, she didn't know and Ulrich had remained as the only target around her. A target she didn't want to take out her anger on.

"... It's not fair to you but that's how it's going to be. I'm sorry but it's not a topic I'm comfortable with talking about." Getting sleep, easier said than done.

"I guess we do, Grimm fighting is a totally different trip compared to relaxing in the wilderness.", he said with a soft chuckle as he rolled his neck while staring out at the streets. "I hope they do return honestly, I've been itching to show you what's improved since we last fought together. Though I'd prefer they did after you fully rested, ya know, so I don't out show you in the fight."

When he heard her rather disappointed question about his hunger pains, he couldn't help but just laugh a little, it was clear he was embarassed but still only he was to blame. As she underhanded him a bottle of water and peanuts he nodded his thanks to her as he worked on opening the peanuts. "Thanks...I'll pay ya back with stuff in my pack when we change shifts.", he said as he quickly gave her a glance to add a bit more emphasis on the next part. "Whether you want compensation or not...besides I got something in the pack you like anyways.", he said before returning his gaze to the streets and plucked peanut after peanut into his mouth.

He didn't give her a response to her rather humorous joke about the grimm howling in the distance, his face reddening would be as much of one she would get. Good job, you once again made her think you were an unprepared child. That's what...point number three hundred and four.", he thought to himself as he placed the empty bag into his pocket. Even if the place was abandoned, littering was littering and he didn't want to do that.

He listened to her talk about how the things went down in the diner when he asked her that question about stories past. He then felt a bit of guilt for leaving her there in the diner but truth be told that's how he was, when people got mad and he felt he was the blame of it, appologize and out the door. It was rather dumb of him but he just felt like that the problem disappear and the person could calm down. When she said it wasn't fair to him though he shook his head, looking back at her with a childish like grin as he spoke. "Naaaah...it's perfectly fair. Your past is your past and if you want to keep it secret until you tell your sister that's understandable. Sorry about asking back then...whenever you're comfortable with it I'd be more than happy to share with you my own in exchange."

"You can take the next wave then if you'd like. I've no interest in fighting anymore Grimm while I'm here... though don't make me have to come save you again." She joked. Ulrich usually never needed saving, unless it was from that endless gut of his. Which from the sounds of things, those peanuts would last all of an hour before he'd get hungry again, and the water may give him the illusion he isn't hungry.

Though while the wound still hurt, having company here with her felt oddly nice. However, make no bones about it, guns just weren't classy like a rapier had been. "Out perform me? Please Ulrich, bouncing bullets off of walls are amusing for a small amount of time but when you're out of ammo I'm still swinging." She holds her hands out, a small glyph appearing as a handgun appears with an icy light to it, spinning it about in her hand. "And possibly still firing." She says, looking to Ulrich with a small smirk.

She let go of the gun, letting it disappear. While she had always wanted to be in a shooting contest against Ulrich, she knew she'd lose, something she hated. "Something I like?..." She turned her head back towards the fire. She didn't want to give the appearance that she had been interested, but of course, that had been the wrong move to make.

"I couldn't ask you to share your past with me since I won't share mine. Though... I do hope you and the little mechanic have stayed safe and well. She was quite the polite and gentle little girl. She reminded me of Weiss when she had been just a little girl. Though... she still is underneath it all." She said with a bit of a smile on her face. Weiss had grown so much in the long span of time since Winter had last gotten to see her. To say she was proud of her sister was an understatement. A vast understatement. "... Thank you for at least keeping an eye on me... more than I can say my father ever did for me."

Ulrich had been sipping down what was left of the water when she mentioned that he could the next wave of Grimm, though the whole him needing saving thing quite literally caused him to choke a bit in surprise. "Whoa...*cough*...oh man....wow Winter. I had no idea you picked up a pretty good sense of humor lately. Congratulations, you should be proud of that.", he said with a chuckle as he screwed the cap back upon the bottle and sat it to the side upon the window's ledge where he had been looking out over.

There it was though, that confidence that settled deep inside of Winter's very being, that pride she felt for her own combative prowess. He could always count on that side of her making an appearance whenever it was invited or teased out of her. It made everything, at least in his mind, like how it used to be when the group had been together and always testing one another to help with their growth, not to anger or belittle them. She even flashed a bit of her power at him as she held her own constructed gun before it faded, causing him to smirk as he brought his arms up and shrugged.

"Like I'm worried about your marksmanship, using your glyphs and such is a lot different from using a firearm. After all, I was our team's gunslinger, you're stepping in my court then my dear Winter. Besides, I have a sword too now, gramp's old gun here has a sword mode and I've been working on my form. Still, I will give credit where credit is due and bow my head in defeat against your skills with a blade.", he said as he gently tilted head in respect. He finally left his little perch, heading towards her now as he took a seat by his back pack. He opened his pack and began to search through it while humming softly and then, once his hand fell upon a small sealed container, he pulled it out and smiled at her.

"Oh, Hazel? Last I checked she was doing well...I know her parents have been asking me to stop by when I get back to Mantle so there's always that. I have seen your sister in passing now and then, she does remind me of you a bit, at least in complexion anyways. Haven't really had the chance to talk to her myself but I figured I'd do that whenever you introduce us sometime. No rush though, I know you have a lot of things you want to do and say with her first so...no biggie. Oh, here this is for the peanuts. One of the parents of some kids around here gave me a melon for helping around and keeping the kids entertained and happy. I remember you like fresh fruit so I've got some sliced up triangles here.", he said as he slid her the sealed container and fished around in the bag until he found himself two kettles which he pulled out and set aside before he dug around a bit more in the bag.

"Oh...oh yeah that's right. You're not on good terms with your father, huh?", he said as he looked over at her with a rather caring look on his face before he nodded. "Hey...I gotta look out for you. We've had each other's back through the academy, never remember hearing that stopped when we all graduated.", he said smiling.

"I picked it up from a drunken bastard. Can't say I'm too proud of it." Winter says, smirking to herself as she looks over her half wall to the horizon. As much as she typically hated being around him, Qrow's essence had somewhat rubbed off on her. Winter reminded herself to stay around her sister more often to cleanse herself of the humor. Though if she knew Qrow, she'd never be cleansed. He'd always show up and remind her of it before getting under her skin immediately.

"You don't think I can't fire this gun while propelling off my glyphs? Ulrich I think you and I both know I set standards for myself when it comes to any weapon, don't go and get too cocky about your gunslinging ability." She wouldn't win, but she'd make him sweat. That much was for certain.

She held out her hand to the side, another glyph appearing as a sword as tall as herself and almost just as wide as her torso appeared, holding it confidently with one hand as an icy aura dripped off of it. "Do you remember what requirements were needed to be made in order for me to summon the Beowulf I first summoned?" She asked as she looked at the blade. "If you do... the same requirements are required for me to use these weapons." She remembered this blade fondly. She'd have to tell Weiss the story later.

"Thanks." She turned the sword in her hand, burying it in the ground effortlessly as it spins in her hand and rips through the ground, staying there slanted. She reached forward, taking the melon and pushed it up into the blade, cutting a small slice of it. She set one piece in the container, biting into the other, taking a deep breath before laughing. "Good terms? There's never been such a thing between us, just being able to live with each other and on the borderline of slitting each other's throats... mother was everything... not just to me but to the family.

"Do me a favor Ulrich... if you plan on having a family... find someone who will be as committed to the kids and yourself as you have been me... and return that commitment... trust me when I say you'll save yourself a lot of headaches by doing such."

"Drunk bastard, eh? Sounds like you had a hell of a time after we all parted ways., he said chuckling as he pulled out two small jars and then a bottle of water. Opening a jar, he began to scoop black grounds into one of the pots as he continued, a smile on his face. "After we went our own ways, I did a few assignments on my own. I think the only major one I had done was a rather large scale Grimm attack was heading towards somewhere in Mantle and had to be routed before they did any damage. It wasn't easy but by the end I had little ammunition left, sword in hand, and was on the verge of passing out.", he said chuckling before he started pouring water into the pot that had the grounds in it. "You should see the scars...., he said before fishing around in the pack for a metal rack to put over the fire.

He slowly started to assemble it as he listened to her talk about the glyphs and how she trained herself when it came to mastering her forms of combat. He didn't deny the girl was really hard on herself but the results were still very impressive. When she asked if he remembered how long it took for her to use Beowulf, he nodded. "Yeah I still remember how bad I freaked out when you first did that. Still you have a rather amazing semblance, I know I'd kill for one like that.", he said as he finished up the little rack that would hold the metal pots over the fire to bring it to a boil as he switched to the other jar which had a brown powder to it.

As she grabbed herself a bit of the watermelon, he smiled as she slowly went on about how things worked with her family, how her mother was a key point for them. He wished he could remember much about his parents but every time he tried, he could only see Grimm, death, and pain. He shook the thoughts off as he listened to her final statement about having a family of his own, chuckling softly as he filled the pot with water and placed it next to the other pot as well. He sat back then as he sighed, shaking his head with a chuckle as he looked off to the side.

"Don't worry about that happening, Winter. No way a woman out there wants me...nooo...no I think i'll just end up being alone and watching out for other people for the rest of my life. Not many people like those who are deformed or scarred...they just want perfection, or at least something pleasing to look at.", he said with a sigh as he rolled his head from side to side.

"Ulrich have you ever considered you're no good to anyone if you're dead?" She asked as she looked over to Ulrich with a raise in an eyebrow. "If I had to guess, you were playing hero for someone. Weren't you, Ulrich?" She couldn't get pissed at the good notions, she could however be pissed if she stumbled upon his body.

"My mother's was something out of this world. Her glyphs were beyond anything I can conjure at the moment. They were beautiful too. Her glyphs were purple like her eyes and all of her creatures had matching eye colors. Just... I can't even begin to describe how unbelievable she was." Winter smiled remembering it. Half of her glyphs that not even Weiss had begun to conjure yet had come from her mother's arsenal.

However, Winter found Ulrich's self depreciation to be utterly annoying. Winter picked up the remaining watermelon and chucked it at Ulrich, if she hit, the shell of the watermelon itself pegging Ulrich in the temple of his head. "Shutup you moron. It's not about what you have to look at it's about what someone see's in you. I don't think I have to tell you that you're a good person, you should know that by now.

"Plus if you even had half of a mind you have an arsenal to attract women easily. Hazel? Bring her along and just be you around her. If women like what they see with you're ability to interact with children, you'll be kept warm at night before long. Gods I feel silly for having to be the one to tell you this." She said, shaking her head as she munched into her watermelon once again. At the very least, the melon tasted wonderful.
